Early Life and FamilySilvia Pinal was born into a family of four sisters in Mexico.
Her mother, María Luisa Hidalgo, was a descendant of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, the initiator of Mexico's independence movement. Her stepfather, Luis, was a military and political journalist. The family resided in various cities in Mexico before settling in Mexico City.
